On Tuesday, September 7, fires engulfed over eighty buildings in all sections of Detroit, nearly paralyzing the local fire department. WSWS reporters Andre Damon and Larry Porter were at the scene of the largest fire, on Robinwood Street in the city’s East side, and covered the Mayor’s press conference the next day.
