Rail unions including the RMT and TSSA claim to oppose the VSS but have done nothing to mobilise workers against it.
In a desperate face-saving operation aimed at concealing their own culpability, the RMT issued a letter to members claiming to oppose the voluntary severance scheme, despite having signed up to it through the Rail Industry Recovery Group.
