Coal miners and family members spoke to SEP presidential candidate Jerry White about social conditions in southern West Virginia. The area, which was the center of the Mine Wars of the 1910s and 1920s against the dictatorial rule of coal bosses, has been hit hard by mine closures, chronic joblessness and a drug epidemic.
